I am so excited to finally share all the details on this pregnancy in my first ever Pregnancy Q&A. It was no fun keeping so quiet for so long, so I am spilling all the beans and answering the questions I have received thus far. Thanks for submitting all of your questions!
Q: How many week’s are you/ when are you due?
A: I was 15 weeks on Sunday and we are due September 27th!
Q: Were you actively trying to get pregnant?
A: Yes! I did natural fertility tracking for a few months. Once I got the hang of it, it happened pretty quickly for us! If you want to know more about what I used, I’d love to share! Let me know in the comments.
Q: Are you finding out the gender?
A: We actually already know the gender- we did the blood test at 12 weeks!
Q: Are you doing a gender reveal or party?
A: We are not going to do a party, but I do plan to post it soon via Instagram!
Q: How bad has your morning sickness been?
A: I would definitely say I have it easier than some women, but I was nauseated 24/7 from about weeks 6.5 to week 14.5. I threw up around 6 times, and my stomach hurt really bad pretty consistently.
Q: You said you’ve been really sick? How did you try to ease the sickness?
A: At week 8 I ended up calling my doctor because it was getting a little difficult taking care of Charlotte and doing day to day responsibilities while feeling nauseated and sick to my stomach 24/7. The doctor suggested taking a Unisom Sleep Tab and a B6 Vitamin at night before bed and it mellowed out my symptoms. It did not however take them away and there were still really HARD days. I also drank coke on occasion to help with stomach pain, which I hated to do because of the caffeine, but I was desperate, and I ate small meals almost every hour. Some things that didn’t work for me were the motion sickness bands, ginger ale, and the Preggy Pops.
Q: Have you had any cravings yet?
A: I have not had any cravings yet. I think the morning (all day) sickness has kind of prevented that, haha.
Q: How has this pregnancy been different than your first one so far?
A: With this pregnancy I have felt by far more sick, but I haven’t had bad headaches like I did with Charlotte. I also haven’t had any cravings like I did last time and I definitely started showing way earlier. Like last time, my boobs are already giant, I had PUPPP’s early on, and I have started to experience round ligament pain again.
Q: How did you tell your husband you were pregnant?
A: Well… the plan was to try and tell him in a cute way, but the day I took the test he happened to stop by the house to drop off a trailer and I just literally could not contain my genuine excitement. I started to tear up as soon as I saw his face and had to tell him immediately- he was just as excited as me!
Q: Are you still doing your regular workout routine?
A: During the first trimester I tried my best to work out on days I could, which was only 7 times total, but I did what I could handle. Now that I am out of the nausea stage, I am back to working out five times a week. I am still doing my SWEAT App and when necessary, I modify reps or movements. Working out honestly keeps me sane and I hope I can do it my whole pregnancy.
Q: Was Charlotte excited?
A: At first she didn’t really seem to understand, but I think she is catching on. She now talks about the baby and even seems to understand it is in my stomach:)
