I had so much decorating for Charlotte’s third birthday party! It was definitely different deciding on the theme this year, because Charlotte is now at the age where she has an opinion on everything and of course I wanted her to have some say. When I asked what she wanted she said “Rainbows!” (She has a small obsession with rainbows right now) I honestly didn’t want to do the rainbow theme and tried to convince her otherwise because we did a colorful theme the year prior, but she was adamant. After some brainstorming however, I realized I could do my own spin the whole rainbow thing. If you know Charlotte Lane at all, you are probably aware that her favorite color is pink and she loves all things girly, so I thought why not do a Pink Rainbow Glam birthday party? To make this theme come to life, I incorporated shades of pink, rainbows, stars, whimsey bouquets, a boat load of balloons, and lots shiny accents.
THE BALLOONS
I went a little crazy with the balloons this year for a few reasons. One, they are a super easy and affordable way to add some major decor elements to a party, and two I needed a huge pink balloon rainbow to really bring the theme to life. After many failed attempts of trying to find a pink rainbow balloon arch kit on the internet, I decided my husband and I were going create our own. I purchased these pink balloon kits, white balloons, rubber bands, and fishing wire to create a garland at the front entry of our home and a rainbow arch. We followed this tutorial when creating the rainbow arch! It was time consuming but it was worth it! Other balloons I included in the party decor were these shiny star balloons hung behind the cake table, a large bright pink number 3 balloon mixed with regular latex balloons, and finally all of our leftover balloons were just scattered throughout the floor of the party! I did this on a whim, but it was actually so perfect. It added another element to the decor and it was fun for the kids to play with.
THE TABLES
I definitely had a very specific vision when it came to the table settings and flowers. I wanted the flowers to have a very whimsical feel, to be made with flowers in pink hues, and to look as if they are just sitting right on the table. I think they turned out perfectly and that they really brought the theme to life. I also layered the tables with pink table clothes, rose gold star confetti, some fun shaped pink plates, and a rainbow cookie. Again it was difficult to find specific decor for this theme, so a perfectly frosted pink rainbow cookie were the perfect accent to the tables. Cookies were done by Erin’s Sugar Cookies and Sweets! I loved the way they turned out!
THE CAKE
Once again I had Mulberries Cake Shop make Charlotte’s cake. I chose to keep it simple with just a pink base, pink drizzle, a “Happy Birthday” cake topper (similar linked here), and a perfectly pink number three candle! I just loved how it looked with all of the other elements of the party.

FACE PAINT | Another fun element I added to the party was face painting for Charlotte and her friends. I used this paint with these sponges to pain little rainbows on the kids faces. It was such a fun added touch, especially because Charlotte is just obsessed with face paint.
