I have been getting a ton of questions recently regarding my lashes and what mascara I use, which is such a compliment, but long lashes are so much more than just a good mascara! My eyelashes have went through a lot of changes with pregnancy and postpartum hair loss, but with a lot of trial and error, I have found some products that have changed the game. It was a long journey, but I am finally happy with my lashes! Some people may think that my lash routine is super high maintenance, and that is because it is. But the way I see it, my eye lashes make my whole look. Long lashes make me feel confident and beautiful, so I am going to do what I need to do to keep them that way!
MASCARA
I have been using the It Cosmetics Lash Blowout Mascara for quite a while now and I love it! It adds so much lift and it is very buildable. I usually use about 100 layers, not going to lie, and it builds beautifully. I also love to add one thin layer of the L’Oreal Double Extend Mascara (I don’t use the primer side). It is a tubing mascara, so it helps my lashes look lifted and long all day long. Finally I use a one final separate mascara for my bottom lashes. I have been using the Mac Extended Play Gigablack lash for years! It has a very small wand so it is perfect for separating and lengthening the bottom lashes. It never smudges and it last forever.
MAINTENANCE
Now let’s talk about the biggest game changer in my routine. Like I stated above, long lashes do not just start and end with a good mascara. I have found that a good serum is so important these days. The Essy Naturals Eye Lash Serum has brought my lashes back to life! I do have to preface with the fact, that I have always had long eyelashes up until recently, so I cannot guarantee that for others this serum will bring as MUCH length. What I do know, however is that it will bring growth and it is only $30! It is also non-irritating, made with natural ingredients, and pregnancy safe. In the evenings before bed, I use this serum along my lash line on both my bottom and top lashes. I also coat the actual hairs with some Castor Oil. This helps to condition and strengthen the lashes.
